Benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association®

Beverly Hills, CA (October 14, 2011) – Morton’s The Steakhouse in Beverly Hills is pleased to announce plans for the Hunter Mahan & Friends: Morton’s Celebrity Server Night, an exclusive fundraising event taking place at Morton’s The Steakhouse on Monday, December 5, 2011, beginning at 7 p.m.  The evening will be hosted by PGA TOUR star, Hunter Mahan, who along with other PGA TOUR players and their celebrity friends, will trade in their nine irons and putters for plates and aprons and serve a four-course lavish dinner to guests. The event will include a live and silent auction, all to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association®.

“I am thrilled and excited to be hosting such a unique event with Morton’s to benefit a charity close to my heart in the Alzheimer’s Association®,” says Mahan. “I have zero experience as a waiter so I know I have my work cut out for me, but I cannot wait to be a part of what I promise will be a memorable evening for everyone.”

“As a PGA TOUR fan, I am so privileged to have Morton’s host this event with Hunter Mahan and the Alzheimer’s Association®,” says Christopher Garrison, General Manager for Morton’s The Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. “This is an exciting opportunity for our guests to be served a wonderful dinner by Hunter and his friends benefiting a worthy cause.”

Hunter has been an Alzheimer’s Association Champion for several years. Having lost his grandmother to this devastating disease in 2007, he is aware of the impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals living with the disease and their caregivers. He regularly participates in activities that raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease and has donated a portion of his winnings to the Association to support critical care, support and research programs.

“Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only one with no known cause, treatment or cure. Fundraisers such as this are crucial to our mission of providing care and support and funding research,” says Susan Galeas, President and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter. “We applaud Hunter, his PGA friends and Morton’s for their commitment to our mission and for bringing such a fun event to our community.”
