For at least one moment, I can say that I’m a better golfer than former Open Champion Paul Lawrie. At putting, at least.
Lawrie, the last Briton to win a Major, EIGHT PUTTED a green at the Wales Open.
I have never, ever eight putted. I’m not even sure I’ve ever five putted. It’s possible I’ve taken a four putt, but I can’t remember when.
Now, I understand that the greens these guys play on are much more slick than the ones I’m used to. But then again, they don’t have to worry about public greens that are pock marked like the face of the moon, littered with tree debris, or unevenly cut.
Happy Gilmore never 8-putted either.
