In the mail for testing this week were some Tour Edge Exotics E721 Irons.
I’m excited to test them because I have been so pleased with my Tour edge Exotics C721 Driver, which I reviewed earlier this year.
The Exotics E721 is a hollow body “extreme game improvement” iron. Key features are VIBRCOR and Diamond Face technologies.
VIBRCOR is a proprietary TPU that is positioned inside the body directly behind the face. The material is designed to aid in the feel, while dampening the sound and shock. Its intent is to give the clubs the buttery feel of a forged iron.
Diamond Face technology refers to the placement of 103 diamond shapes that cover the face area of the iron. The pattern, along with three varying thicknesses, reduce overall face thickness by 21%. The effect is to increase the trampoline effect, creating faster ball speeds across the entire face.
Other features include a 360 undercut design for higher ball launch and increased flexing; a toe weighted design to elongate the sweet spot and; stronger lofts for more distance and lower spin rates.
My initial tests have been very pleasing. I’ll have a full review in a few weeks.
