In the mail for review is a set of Wilson Staff D7 Irons (manufacturer’s website).
The key feature of the D7 Irons are urethane filled slots in the soles that Wilson calls “Power Holes.”
Wilson says that the Power Holes improve the springboard effect of the face, providing more speed and distance. Three rows of power holes on the longer irons are intended to improve distance. The shorter irons have either one or two rows for better feel and precision.
The face is quite thin at just 2mm. That also improves distance.
For super game improvement irons, the Wilson D7s have a nice look at address. They are actually pretty attractive.
I’ll have a full review in a couple of weeks, but my first two rounds with them have been really positive.
