In a sign that Ann Arbor’s LPGA Volvik Championship is growing in stature, organizers have announced a new partnership with INFINITI. The auto manufacturer will be the Official Vehicle Sponsor of the 2017 tournament to be played at Travis Pointe Country Club May 22 through 28.

“We are always looking for unique ways for consumers to engage with the INFINITI brand while also giving back to the community, and the LPGA Volvik Championship provides a wonderful opportunity to do just that,” said Phil O’Connor, director, INFINITI Marketing Communications and Media. “We are eager to be a part of this event and to experience the enthusiasm of LPGA fans and players.”

INFINITI, known worldwide for its high-performance luxury vehicles, is not only an official sponsor of the tournament, but also will award an INFINITI Q60 to any golfer who cards a hole-in-one on the Par 3, 180 Yard Hole #16 during tournament play.

“Not every professional golf tournament has a hole-in-one prize, let alone a luxury vehicle prize such as the INFINITI Q60 that we have,” said Keith Karbo, tournament director. “INFINITI will provide every golfer, including the amateurs during the Pro-Am, a chance to win one of these beautiful vehicles.”

That means each golfer, amateur and professional, that plays in the Volvik Championship Official Pro-Am presented by A123 Systems on Wednesday all the way through the LPGA final championship round on Sunday has an opportunity to win.

INFINITI is also the exclusive courtesy vehicle of the tournament, and will provide vehicles for use by the LPGA Volvik Championship players, VIPs and staff.
The tournament was developed to create a professional sports event that would benefit the local community, support charity, and grow the economy. Over 30,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the second annual LPGA Volvik Championship.

This tournament will be internationally televised in over 150 countries and create a $20 million economic impact for southeast Michigan. Being played through Memorial Day weekend, the event will also raise awareness for organizations that benefit military families.

Tickets for the LPGA Volvik Championship start as low as $20. Children 17 years old and younger receive free admission, as do Active Duty, Retired Military, and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
