Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club’s Copperhead Course is the host of the Tampa Bay Championship. The course has previously served as the host of the 2003-2006 Chrysler Championship; 2007-2008 PODS Championship; and the 2009- 2012 Transitions Championship.
Copperhead is a 7,340 yard par 71 designed by Larry Packard in 1972. It features 76 bunkers, 8 water hazards and 70 acres of rough. The primary turf type is Bermuda. Fairways are cut to 0.450 inches, and the rough to 2.5 inches.
The course’s greens average 8,220 square feet and run to a Tournament Stimpmeter of 11 – 11.5 feet.
Innisbrook’s Superintendent is Ryan Stewart, a graduate of Elmwood College in Scotland, and a member of the GSCAA for eight years. He has been at Innisbrook for ten years, preparing for the 2003-2006 Chrysler Championship, Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Palm Harbor, Fla.; 2007-2008 PODS Championship, Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Palm Harbor, Fla.; 2009-2012 Transitions Championship, Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, Palm Harbor, Fla.
Stewart supervises 15 maintenance employees and has a tournament volunteer staff of 12.
