Is Keegan Bradley Player of the Year?

Keegan Bradley surely is the Rookie of the Year. Could he also be the Player of the Year? As of this writing, I think he’s as strong a case as any.

Consider: the most PGA Tour wins this year by any player is two. That list includes: Keegan Bradley, Steve Stricker, Nick Watney, Bubba Watson and Mark Wilson. Bradley, however, is the only one with a Major.

He’s a bit weaker in Top 10s, tied for 21st. Of the players ranked above him him Nick Watney and Steve Stricker have as many wins. But once again, neither has a Major in his bag this year (or any year, for that matter).

We’ll have to see how the playoffs go. If Stricker, Watney or another manages a tournament win, or to finish on top, then that might get them back in the conversation. But for now, I think you have to give it to Bradley.

  1. I think Keegan Bradley, right now, is the player of the year for the PGA Tour. I feel it is all about wins, and he has not only the PGA Championship…but the HP Byron Nelson Championship too which is one of the better tournaments of the year. It will be interesting to see what happens during the playoffs, but I think if he does decently in the playoffs he should take the award. Is it possible to win both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year?
