Is The Timing Of Tiger’s News Conference Designed To Hurt Accenture?

Once again The GolfBlogger ascends the Grassy Knoll …

Did Tiger and his team deliberately schedule their news conference for the middle of the Accenture Match Play? Is this a deliberate attempt by Steinberg and Tiger to steal the thunder of the company (Accenture) that was the first to drop Woody for his peccadilloes? The Match Play Championship will be completely forgotten in the wake of this event.

I don’t think I’d put it past Team Tiger.

  1. Perhaps.  But some reports are saying that Tiger will be playing next week to begin prep for the Masters.  In that case, the players list will be coming out on Friday as well, so some sort of statement would make sense to accompany.  However as controlled as this sounds like it will be, I can’t think of a reason he wouldn’t just want to issue a press release, because this just barely looks like it will be anything more than a written press release.
