In this video for #FitnessFriday, Coach Joey D demonstrates how to do dynamic golf stretching before and after a round. I had the opportunity to speak to Coach D last fall, and one of the things he emphasized was the need to work on stretching.
“In general, when you talk about how people get tired, their joints ache and ailments pop up it is because they need to become more dynamic in their movements. Static stretching is archaic. Six to eight movements of dynamic stretching are what you need.”
For my part, I have been working in some stretching routines after every weight session, and on my off days. It really doesn’t take much time, and I can do it while watching tv. As I write this, I’m watching my Mountaineers in an NCAA basketball game.
