Kentwool Argyle Socks
Grade: A

I’ve previously written about Kentwool’s excellent line of wool socks aimed at golfers. Now the company has introduced a line of socks called the 19th Hole, which is aimed at casual and business wear.

The socks look as sharp as any you’ll find in a fine department store or men’s clothier, with one important difference: they’re wool. Since first trying the Kentwool Tour Profile (ankle length) wool golf socks, I’ve been gradually switching my entire sock stash over to wool. The new wool is amazingly cool, dry and comfortable. Thanks to moisture wicking properties, they’re cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  They keep their shape and elasticity. No more cotton or acrylic socks for me. Goodbye to sweaty feet. Goodbye to to rubbing, blisters and chafing. Goodbye to odors.

I also am convinced that my Kentwools will last a lot longer than the old acrylic and cotton. Even with round after round of play, the Kentwool Tour Profile socks I own are just as cushioned and thick as the day I opened the package. They have kept their shape far longer than any sock I have owned. They’re more expensive, but I believe I won’t need to replace them as often.

The 19th Hole dress socks are a worthy addition to the line. It feels weird to rave about socks, but as a teacher I spend my life on my feet. Feet are important. Now I can take the comforts of the Kentwool golf socks to the classroom.

I need more of these.

You can see the full line in the photo below. I’ve never been much of a fan of striped socks—makes one look like the Wicked Witch of the West—but the argyle and plain designs are terrific.
