Kevin Na’s 16

In today’s media-centric, internet world’s Kevin Na’s 16 on the par 4 ninth will be very difficult to forget. It was the worst par 4 score on the PGA Tour since 1983.

I’ve never taken a 14. Not once. And I spend a LOT of time in the trees. The first rule: forget about advancing the ball. Look for the biggest opening (forward, sideways, back) and use the three wood to putt it out of there. Anything in the air is likely to catch a branch.  You may even need to putt it twice … the first time just to get to a spot where you can then putt it back to the fairway.
