Lake Doster Golf Club Suffers 75K In Vandalism
Vandals have struck Lake Doster Golf Club, causing more than $75,000 dollars in damage to their greens.
The damage appears to be the work of at least two people on four wheeled vehicles.
Lake Doster Golf Club is located in Plainwell, just North of Kalamazoo. You can read GolfBlogger’s Lake Doster Golf Club review at the link and see photos of the course.
Worse, the club reports that this is not the first time this has happened. They are offering a reward for information identifying and prosecuting the culprits.
While I can grok the idea that driving about and doing donuts on a four wheeler off road vehicle could be fun, I fail to grasp how that fun is improved by doing it on a golf green. It is a nihilistic act that hopefully results in convictions. Vandalism of property valued at more then $20,000 is a felony in Michigan that can include fines of up to three times the value of the damage, and or ten years in prison.
Throw the book at them.
