Chefs at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs have cooked up a life-size gingerbread golf cart in honor of the upcoming US Senior Open at the resort.
The Broadmoor is one of my bucket list places to visit. With two courses in the shadow of the Rockies designed by Donald Ross and Robert Trent Jones, Sr., it’s a Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond Resort.
I love traditional course design.
Giant gingerbread productions apparently are a holiday tradition at the Broadmoor. Last year, it was a canopy boat; other years have featured trains, chapels and cars.
Here are the official “yardages” of the recipe:
THE OFFICIAL BROADMOOR GINGERBREAD SCORE CARD (FRONT 9):
- Hole 1 – Powdered Sugar (958 lbs)
- Hole 2 – Flour (475 lbs)
- Hole 3 – Eggs (1801)
- Hole 4 – Holiday Spices (19 lbs)
- Hole 5 – Granulated Sugar (200 lbs)
- Hole 6 – Molasses (128 lbs)
- Hole 7 – Salt (6 lbs)
- Hole 8 – Dark Chocolate (164 lbs)
