Love To Be Named Ryder Cup Captain—Does It Matter?

Davis Love III will be the 2016 Ryder Cup Captain, according to multiple sources. It won’t make a difference one way or another.

The choice of Captain matters not a bit if the players don’t play better. Here is a comparison of top players after the last Ryder Cup:

Phil Mickelson’s Ryder Cup Record: 16-19-6
Jim Furyk: 10-20-4
Bubba Watson: 3-8-0
Matt Kuchar: 4-5-2

Here are the four big guns for Europe, on the other hand:

Lee Westwood: 20-15-6
Sergio Garcia: 18-9-5
Ian Poulter: 12-4-2
Justin Rose: 9-3-2

And then lets throw in the Ryder Cup record of the second best player of all time. Tiger Woods is an embarrassing 13-14-2. How is a losing record possible for Tiger in his heyday, unless he just doesn’t give a flying you-know-what?

I don’t know why Davis Love would take the job.
