I am very excited to learn that the LPGA has scheduled an event in Ann Arbor for 2016. A professional golf event in the Golf Blogger’s backyard is cause for serious celebration.
The tournament will be held at Travis Pointe Country Club, at a date that will be announced today.
The Travis Pointe event will be the LPGA’s second event in Michigan. The LPGA Meijer Classic has been held since 2014 in Grand Rapids.
I have really enjoyed attending the LPGA’s Jamie Farr (now the Marathon Classic) in nearby Toledo. That event was always very friendly, and the players incredibly hospitable. If you live near an LPGA event, I recommend that you take a day to attend. It’s a very enjoyable experience.
