(Grand Rapids, MI) As the long time teacher of PGA Tour star Matt Kuchar, Chris O’Connell continues the tradition of outstanding headliners at the 31st West Michigan Golf Show set for Feb. 8-10 in Grand Rapids. O’Connell is the co-founder and Director of Instruction at the Plane Truth Golf Institute at The Courses at Watters Creek in Dallas, TX. Among his many honors, Golf Magazine includes him initsTop 100 Teachers in America.

“I’m very excited to be appearing at the West Michigan Golf Show,” said O’Connell who played college golf at Notre Dame University. “It has a great reputation and track record for bringing in the game’s top teachers. I’m humbled and grateful for the invitation.”

Matt Kuchar, O’Connell’s student since 2006 and a winner this past weekend at the Sony Open, says West Michigan golfers will enjoy learning from Chris: “I am excited that Chris will be presenting at the West Michigan Golf Show.  Every time we get together I leave a better player and I know the attendees of the show will find the same.”

Carolyn Alt, Senior Show Manager, is ecstatic about O’Connell coming to Grand Rapids. “We couldn’t be happier about Chris being part of the Golf Show,” said Alt. “The success of his students such as Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, and Ted Purdy demonstrate his teachigolfng excellence.”

Based on famed teacher Jim Hardy’s principles of the One and Two Plane golf swings, the Plane Truth Golf Institute’s concepts and techniques apply to the tournament player and weekend player alike. About it, O’Connell explains: “All of our instruction is based on improving your ball flight, not on a strict swing method or a specific style. We don’t teach a method, we teach people.”
