Instead of impressing the locals with your group’s best ball prowess, why not take it national. The PGA of America and RSM McGladrey are for the third year sponsoring a national team championship, with the finals to be held at Pinehurst, in North Carolina. The event has a combined purse of $1.2 million. Amateurs will receive gift certificates (although if I happened to make the finals, I’d go pro for sure to make sure I didn’t miss out on the loot).
Local qualifying will be conducted at all forty one PGA sections through September. The finals take place October 26 – 28. You can find a local qualifying event by going to the PGA Team Championship site.
