MI Teachers Make Golf 100 Best List

Two Michigan teaching pros have made Golf Magazine’s list of the top 100 teachers in the United States: Adam Schriber of Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville and the better known Rick Smith of Treetops in Gaylord.

What I find curious about this list, though, is that Schriber and Smith aren’t even listed as the Teachers of the Year in Michigan. For 2010, that honor went to Charley Vandenberg at Kent Country Club and in 2011, the winner is Brad Dean at Crystal Mountain.

How can you be a Top 100 teacher for 2011 when you aren’t even Teacher of the Year in your own state? I’d love to know how these things are calculated.
