Michigan Section PGA Election Results

michigan divot tool smallerThe Michigan Section PGA elected three new officers for a two year term at the Association’s Annual Meeting attended by over 250 Michigan PGA Members. The meeting was held October 26, 2015 at Eagle Eye Golf Club in East Lansing, Michigan. Ron Osborne, of Binder Park Golf Club, takes over as the Association’s President.

Osborne, a member of The PGA of America since 1992, has been the Head Golf Professional at Binder Park Golf Club since 2003. Osborne succeeds Doug White of On the Dune Sports.

Kevin McKinley, of Treetops Resort & Spa, has been elected Vice President. McKinley, a member of The PGA of America since 2002, has been the Director of Golf at Treetops since 2004 and will succeed Ron Osborne.

Bob Bales, of Sauganash Golf Club, has been elected Secretary. Bales, a member of The PGA of America since 1995, has been the Head Golf Professional at Sauganash since 2008 and will succeed Kevin McKinley.

“The Association is fortunate to be able to utilize Ron, Kevin and Bob’s expertise going forward. This group of officers is dedicated to working with the Board of Directors to serve the needs of the entire membership,” said Kevin Helm, Michigan PGA Executive Director.

John Lindert, of Country Club of Lansing, has been elected District 5 Director by the members of the Michigan Section PGA. Lindert, a member of The PGA of America since 1983, has been Director of Golf at Country Club of Lansing since 2002.

“It is a privilege and I am deeply honored to be selected to serve as District 5 Director,” said Lindert.

There are fourteen (14) District Directors of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. Each District Director is elected to a three-year term of office, and also serves on the PGA of America’s Board of Directors. Lindert’s District includes the Michigan, Northern Ohio and Southern Ohio Sections. Lindert previously served as President, Vice President and Secretary of the Michigan PGA.

The Michigan PGA and its 800 members and apprentices serve the Michigan golf community by promoting the game of golf and overall vitality of the game.
