Recently, North Korea released a list of 300 new patriotic slogans, featuring such gems as:
“Let us turn ours into a country of mushrooms by making mushroom cultivation scientific, intensive and industrialized!”
“Let us make the principle of holding the masses dearest run through Party work as a whole!”
“Fire an opening salvo of an ideological campaign and make our fire concentrated, regular and accurate!”
So in the spirit of patriotic fervor, I’ve decided to help out North Korea with a few patriotic golf slogans. I don’t know why they didn’t think about golf themselves. After all, the Dear Leader (Kim Jong Il, father of the current mad dictator) once shot 38 under par with eleven holes in one.
Each of these slogans is a line from an actual golf manufacturer’s ad, translated successively from English to Korean to several other languages and then back to English to create a fractured, Engrish phrase. Can you figure out which is which?
