Sorry Jack, you are going to have to live with that record. I was saying it three years ago that Tiger wasn’t going to do it. That his highly tuned body was critical, but that his injuries were aging his body faster than Jack’s body aged. That his ego was a big factor, as well as his competitors being terrified of him.
The knee injury set him back; YE Yang then broke something inside Tiger and redefined something for every player to come later.
He is/was still an incredible player. As Michael Jordan miraculously carried the Bulls through Game 5 in 1997 with the flu, Tiger’s US Open in 2008 was more incredible that he had been playing for months on a busted knee.
But in 2009, even though he was still dominating he failed to win any major, and then YE Yang beat him in the PGA.
I wonder if Jack has read the Tiger vs. Jack book. I would think by now someone has given him the cliff notes. I have only read bits and pieces, but I got the gist.
You and I have been of one mind for a couple of years. Tiger is a much older golfer than his age indicates. He’ll be lucky to win ONE more major.
His ego has gotten the best of him. We have not seen the last of him, but I don’t think he has the gas. Shame.
