MaxFli has added a new ball to its popular Noodle line. In addition to the Long and Soft Noodle, the Lontest Noodle, and the Softest Noodle, the line now includes the Noodle Ice.

The Noodle Ice performs like the other Noodle balls, but has a transparent cover, which reveals a colored core of lime, lemon, tangerine and raspberry.

Noodle Becomes a Family of Four

Members include the Long and Soft Noodle, the Longest Noodle,
the Softest Noodle and Noodle Ice

Noodle Becomes a Family of FourCARLSBAD, Calif. (October 11, 2005) – Noodle, the most recognizable name in the long-and-soft category of golf balls, now offers golfers a family of four models – the Long and Soft Noodle, the Longest Noodle, the Softest Noodle and Noodle Ice.

All four employ two-piece construction, the components of which are a large core and Surlyn™ cover. The core combines low compression with high resilience, while the cover is durable yet soft. Together, these components work together in a way that makes every member of the Noodle family feel soft at impact yet fly fast off the clubface. The result is the kind of exceptional distance and remarkable feel that the Noodle name has become famous for.
The Long and Soft Noodle

The Long and Soft Noodle is designed to deliver a balanced blend of long distance, soft feel and good spin. This is the flagship ball of the Noodle franchise. In addition to its two-piece construction it incorporates a 408-dimple pattern engineered to promote a high, long-carrying trajectory that encourages added distance.
The Longest Noodle

The Longest Noodle is designed to deliver the most distance of all three balls, but not at the expense of soft feel. Key to the Longest Noodle’s performance is its high-powered core and firm and fast Surlyn cover, which work in conjunction to generate extremely fast ball speed off the clubface and a high launch angle for extreme distance. Additionally, the cover and core are engineered to work together to reduce spin off the driver to encourage a penetrating, distance-producing flight and added roll for extra yardage.
The Softest Noodle

The Softest Noodle is designed to deliver the softest feel and the most spin of all three balls, but not at the expense of distance. It incorporates a thinner, softer, specially formulated Surlyn cover and an ultra-large core. The combination of the two promotes exceptionally fast ball speed for great distance and increased spin, especially off the short irons, for enhanced control. The Softest Noodle also incorporates a 442-dimple pattern that promotes a high, wind-resistant trajectory that encourages exceptional carry, distance and flight control in all types of conditions.
The Noodle Ice

The Noodle Ice is engineered to deliver the classic long-and-soft performance that Noodle balls are known for. However, Noodle Ice incorporates two compelling cosmetic elements that are designed to enhance the way it looks, increase visibility, and to increase appeal to a broader audience.

First, the cover of the Noodle Ice is transparent, allowing the core beneath to clearly show through. The cover, which resembles a thin, sleek layer of ice, is what gives the ball its name. Second, the core is colored, which gives the ball a distinctive and attractive look. Four high-optic colors are available: lime, lemon, tangerine and raspberry.

Not only does the transparent cover and colored core give Noodle Ice a striking in appearance, many golfers should also find the high-optic colors easier to focus on at address, and easier to see in flight. Thus Noodle Ice can, for some players, promote better and more solid contact, and be easier to track and find on the golf course.

“As always, every member of the Noodle family is engineered to work for all types of swing speeds,” says Dean Snell, senior director of research and development for golf balls. “That means that an extremely broad variety of players can reap the performance advantages of each one, whether they seek a ball that balances feel, distance and spin like the Long and Soft Noodle, a ball that combines added distance with great feel like the Longest Noodle, a ball that blends great distance, great feel and added spin like the Softest Noodle, or a ball that offers high optic color and a distinctive look, as the Noodle Ice does.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $20 per dozen. Availability will begin at TaylorMade’s retail partners starting in November 2005.

  1. Just to say that I’ve been looking around for the best place to get these from in the UK, and although the retail price is meant to be around £20, many retailers have discounted it lots.

I just ordered some yesterday and they arrived with me today – very pleased. These balls are pretty bright on the eyes, you may need sunglasses! Quite cool, although my 15 year old son has started to have golf lessons at school and keeps pinching them!
