Updated Odds To Win The Masters are here.
Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods are the odds-on favorites to win the 2018 Masters. All three come in at 9/1.
I like the McIlroy and Johnson picks, but I’m afraid that the masses are being caught up in the Tiger frenzy. While Tiger’s comeback from back surgery is impressive, he has at this point proven nothing more than that he is a very good PGA TOUR player. That is very good indeed, but does not put him in the top twenty, let alone the top ten of PGA TOUR Players.
Justin Thomas at 10/1 seems like a good bet. He faltered a bit when faced with the pressure of becoming World Number One at the WGC Match Play, but he will have time to digest what he learned there.
Jordan Spieth is overrated at 14/1. This year he has looked lost on the greens, missing putts that two years ago would have been tap-ins.
Justin Rose and Bubba Watson are also in at 14/1. I like Watson for a third green jacket. His game is back in form. He has two wins on the season, including the pressure-packed do-or-die, one-bad-round-and-you’re-out WGC Match Play. That’s good prep for the Masters.
Phil Mickelson , at 18/1, seems to be correctly valued. Given his play in recent months, Phil could win another Major this year.
I keep thinking that Rickie Fowler is due for a Major victory. Bettors have him at 20/1. Also at 20/1 is John Rahm, who I think also has “Major Winner” written all over him.
