Odds To Win The Arnold Palmer Invitational 2011

There seems to be an immutable rule of golf and betting: If Tiger’s in the field, he’s the favorite. This time, I’m sure the betting public is thinking that Tiger’s final round 66 at Doral is evidence of that he’s figured out what Sean Foley has been trying to teach him.

I don’t think so.

At any rate, Tiger’s in at 9/1, followed by Dustin Johnson and Graeme McDowell at 16/1. Lots of prognosticators are picking Johnson this week. The theory is that with his game, he could go really low at the redesigned Bay Hill. Phil hasn’t shown much this year, but he seems to be a part o the same law as Tiger. If he’s in the field, he’s one of the favorites. After Phil, there’s Hunter Mahan at 25/1, Justin Rose at 30/1, then Rickie Fowler and Jim Furyk are following at 33/1.

Defending Champ Ernie Els is holding at 40/1.
