Odds To Win The Farmers Insurance Open 2013

I don’t know how you can bet against Tiger Woods in the Farmers’ Insurance Open, and as the favorite at 6/1, apparently no one else does, either. Tiger absolutely owns Torrey Pines; it’s one of that handful of courses upon which he has piled the majority of his PGA Tour victories. Tiger has won seven times as a pro at Torrey—constituting ten percent of his PGA Tour victories.

Given Tiger’s confidence in San Diego, this weekend should be a measure of the current strength of his game. Even throwing out the penalty and the missed cut last week,Tiger didn’t look good. Maybe that was just a warm up.

Reigning champ Brandt Snedeker is the bettors’ second choice, but a distant one, coming in at 14/1 along with Dustin Johnson. It’s a big gap between those two and Tiger, though.

San Diego native Phil Mickelson is net at 16/1. Phil, too, has a history of success at Torrey Pines and this also should be a test of his state of mind. He blew the first round last week at the Hope Humana pro-am, but then finished strong. I hope that tax controversy doesn’t distract him.

What follows is a list of the usual suspects: Bubba Watson at 18/1; Nick Watney at 20/1 and the surprise of the last couple of weeks, Charles Howell at 25/1,

  1. Love the odds of Harry English at 66/1. This guy has been playing great golf in 2012 and 2013 and I think will win again this year.

I’m interested to follow his progress.
