I’ve been tracking the betting odds to win the Masters for the last month and thought it time to make a report. Below is a spreadsheet I’ve compiled with the top twelve contenders, according to oddsmakers. I’ve converted the fractional odds to decimal percentage chance to win to make the comparisons a little easier.
There are twelve, rather than ten for two reasons: First, Garcia and Kaymer were not in the top ten in February. Mahan was, but has since dropped out. These changing fortunes changed the list.
Since February, Rory McIlroy has become a more significant favorite, surely on the strength of his rise to number one. That’s not surprising to me. What is, on the other hand, is that Tiger continues apace, in spite of what by any measure is a disappointing stretch of play.
The remainder are holding steady in their positions.
