Jack’s tournament is a Tour favorite, based on the number of A list players who are teeing it up this week. Those players include World #1 and #2, Luke Donald (9/1) and Rory McIlroy (12/1). McIlroy’s been in a bit of a slump lately, missing two big recent cuts, but he’s still a solid #2, a full point on the world rankings away from #3 Lee Westwood who apparently is NOT teeing it up this week.
World #4 Bubba Watson is in at 25/1, behind #6 Justin Rose (16/1) and #10 Steve Stricker (22/1).
Number nine ranked Tiger Woods finds a spot at 14/1 on the oddsmakers charts. This is a tournament where he could play well, given that he has won there four times (this course accounts for a full 5% of his total victories).
Rickie Fowler finds his way into the oddsmakers top ten at 18/1. Fowler has been on a bit of a tear lately, but I find him a mystery. Pundits love to talk about his level of talent, but one win aside, it has thus far been more smoke than fire.
Hunter Mahan, World Number 7, who earlier this year was touted as the current best Aamerican player, is in at 40/1, along with other stalwarts, Dustin Johnson, Ernie Els, Jason Day and Keegan Bradley. Any of those could win.

I picked Jason Day as one of my longer shots. He purchased at home on Muirfield last year, so I am giving him some XP points on insider knowledge, particularly on the way some of the greens roll.
Also, I picked Hunter, Phil (could be a peaking week prior to US Open), Tiger, Rory, Rickie. I had to make a choice between Bubba and Hunter, I am going with Bubba might have picked up some rust, but I will be picking Bubba in the US Open. Not gonna pick Luke – the way things are going I just see as little movement up the #1 for Luke, and Rory getting it back maybe this week or next (Rory coming to Memphis next week).
