Odyssey Tank Cruiser Putter

Odyssey Tank Cruiser 330 Mallet Golf Putter

I think that there will be more clubs like the Odyssey Tank Cruiser as s we get closer to the implementation of the USGA’s ban on belly putters.

The Tank Cruiser distinguishes itself by a series of adjustable weights. Ten, fifteen and twenty gram weights adjust the head weight to 265g, 375g or 385g. Meanwhile, another set of 5g, 15g and 30g weights can be inserted into the grip end. This allows golfers to create a precise balance point on their putters for the best possible stroke.

A great many players went to the anchored, belly putter because their hands betrayed them through the putting stroke. Through personal experience my B1 Heavy Putter, I have found that the backweighting effectively keeps the hands out of the stroke. As heavy as my flat stick feels, there is no way I’m getting wristy.

The Tank Cruiser should be able to do the same thing. If you’re looking for an alternate to the belly putter, try a heavily weighted one.
