This week’s PGA TOUR stop is the Greg Norman-designed El Camaleon Golf Club for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Graeme McDowell is the defending champion. The field features fifteen rookies.
The El Camaleón Golf Club at the Mayakoba resort is a Greg Norman signature course. It is a unique 7, 039 yard layout that passes through three distinct landscapes—mangrove jungles, limestone canals and stunning, oceanfront stretches of sand. El Camaleón incorporates a cenote, a massive underground cavern, into the heart of the opening fairway. With Mayakoba’s unique system of waterways, golfers can step out of their rooms and into a boat, which will ferry them directly to the first tee.
It’s on my bucket list.
