Panoramic Views Of The Rocket Mortgage Classic

There was a lot to take in at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The tight, old school Donald Ross design meant that you could often see the action on several holes at once from a single vantage point.

The photo at top is of the fourteenth. From that vantage point, a fan could see the second half of the par five fourteenth, as well as part of the sixteenth just across the pond.

The par 3 fifteenth was lined on both sides by grandstands, and capped by grandstands behind the green. For players, it had to have been like shooting down a tunnel.

Grandstands on the seventeenth offered a great view.

The last panoramic view of the Rocket Mortgage Classic was taken from behind the eighteenth green as eventual winner was teeing off.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic is a welcome addition to the Michigan Golf Scene. Michigan’s previous PGA TOUR event, the Buick Open, left in 2009. The last year for the Champions’ Tour Ford Senior Championship was in 2006.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic will return in 2020. I am looking forward to it.
