In the 1993 Ryder Cup at The Belfry, Payne Stewart went 3-1-0 to help the United States team to its second straight win. The European team had won the previous three Ryder Cup matches.
Team Europe had a one point lead heading into the singles matches. The United States won six of the Sunday matches, however, and went home with a 15-13 victory.
In all, Stewart played on five Ryder Cup teams (1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1999). The US team went 3-1-1 when he was a player.
