PGA’s Delay is LPGA’s Gain

The Verizon Heritage was in a wind delay, so I switched over to The Golf Channel to watch the final round of the LGPA’s Ginn Open. Anyone who did got to witness a wild finish.

Brittany Lincicome, who started the day four shots back held on to win on a blustery day as Lorena Ochoa and Laura Davies collapsed. Her even-par 72 was enough to give her the victory. Superstar Lorena Ochoa was 6-over on the last six holes. Future Hall of Famer Laura Davies had the lead with two holes to go but finished double bogey – triple bogey.

It wasn’t necessarily bad golf on Ochoa and Davies’ parts. The same wind storm that shut down the Verizon also played havoc with the Ginn. Ochoa was rattled on the greens as the wind blew her about. And Davies’ shots also clearly were affected.

Fun stuff.
