Here’s what it looks like when you play a ball out of the water.

  1. So is that two penalties when you touch the water AND you ground your club in the bottom of the hazard? LOL

Back when I was a golfing neophyte, a buddy and I were playing a day or so after some storms, and I came upon my ball in the middle of a bunker with about 2 inches of water above it.

My buddy told me when I asked that I couldn’t touch the water with the club, and so I took a mighty stroke and actually got the ball out of the water and onto the green. Then my “buddy” told me “oh, by the way, you get a free drop from that”
