Playing Old MacDonald At Bandon Dunes #GolfBlogWorldTour

Along with my friends Tony Korologos of HookedOnGolfBlog and John Duval of Into The Grain, I had the chance to play the Old MacDonald course today at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

Designed by Tom Doak and Jim Urbina, the course asks: What would the classic architect Charles Blair MacDonald have designed with a piece of Oregon coast at his disposal.

The answer is a course that gets more difficult the closer you get to the greens. Missing the wide fairways is difficult. However, holding the green with a shot is a chore.  The course ran firm and fast; wind was a constant howl in from the Pacific Ocean.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable round, and I’ll have a full review as soon as possible.
