
According to a report from 9&10 News, six students and one coach from the Charlevoix High School varsity golf team were hospitalized Sunday night after their van was hit head-on by the SUV of a suspect fleeing police.
The driver of the suspect vehicle suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. All seven occupants of the Charlevoix golf team van were transported to Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, with numerous injuries.
The driver of the golf team van was flown to Munson via an Aero-Med helicopter.
The suspect was wanted for felonies in Antrim County, including felonoius assault and a stolen vehicle. He was fleeing westbound on M-115 when he crossed the centerline to collide with the golf team’s vehicle. The suspect did not survive the crash.
For what it’s worth, in Michigan, spring is the boy’s golf season.
