Presidents Cup Captains Haas and Price To Attend National Golf Day 2015

Presidents Cup Captains Jay Haas and Nick Price will headline the 2015 edition of National Golf Day, an annual exhibition of industry leaders aimed at policy makers in Washington, D.C.  Created by “We Are Golf,” an industry group, the program aims to impress upon policy makers the economic, charitable, fitness and environmental benefits of the golf industry.  Annually, golf has a $70 billion impact on the economy, employs close to two million Americans and generates nearly $4 billion in charitable giving each year.

Golf’s leaders will meet with Members of Congress, the Executive Branch and federal agencies to share stories about the game’s 15,000-plus diverse businesses, two million employees, tax revenue creation, tourism and ecological value.

National Golf Day is April 15, 2015. To join the conversation, visit the WE ARE GOLF social media hub. Use #NGD15 and @wearegolf on Twitter and Instagram to show your support for the golf industry.

The 2014 edition resulted in 120 scheduled Congressional meetings in one day. Globally, the #NGD14 Twitter campaign eclipsed 16 million impressions and reached 7.4 million accounts, including 787,000 users in a one-hour span.

“Continuing to grow the game of golf is very rewarding to me,” Price said. “National Golf Day provides a forum to discuss the game’s impact with legislators, sharing the various economic, charitable and fitness benefits of the game.”

“It’s an honor to promote the growth of golf on the biggest stage in the nation’s capital,” Haas said. “As caretakers of the game, we have a unique opportunity to discuss and present our findings with the decision-makers of our country, largely dictating what the future has in store.”
