Pure Michigan Campaign Pays Dividends

The “Pure Michigan” ad campaign is paying dividends. Last year, the $13 million Michigan spent on out-of-state campaign advertising generated $86.6 million in state tax revenue. The campaign attracted more than 4 million out-of-state visitors, producing a dividend of $6.66 for every $1 spent by the state, up from $5.76 in 2012.

Many of the Pure Michigan ads focused on golf in the state, which Gary Player recently said is the “home of golf in America.”
