The city of Riverview, Michigan, is taking proposals for the purchase of its landfill and golf course, according to an article in the News-Herald.
Riverview Highlands Golf Course and the Riverview Land Preserve (the landfill) are both apparently up for sale.
Read GolfBlogger’s Riverview Highlands Golf Course Review. The course has three nines, and I played two of them. I’ll have to get back this season to play the other nine.
In the past, Riverview Highlands also featured a ski area with eight slopes and 190 feet of vertical. Because the slopes were on the landfill, it was referred to as Mount Trashmore.
The ski area is long gone, but the course is known for being open all year ’round. If the snow is gone, the course is open.
