DETROIT (May 13, 2021) – The Rocket Mortgage Classic today announced general admission ticket sales will open on Thursday, May 27 for the third edition of the PGA TOUR’s only golf tournament ever held within the city of Detroit. This year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic returns to the historic Detroit Golf Club June 28 – July 4.

In cooperation with government and health officials from the City of Detroit and State of Michigan, the Rocket Mortgage Classic will make general admission (grounds-only) tickets available for purchase beginning May 27, for the Delta Dental Pro-Am at the Rocket Mortgage Classic on Wednesday, June 30 and each of the tournament’s four competition rounds Thursday, July 1 – Sunday, July 4. Tickets will be available at RocketMortgageClassic.com.

“We are grateful for the commitment of the state and city in working with us to develop a smart, safe solution that first and foremost prioritizes the health of the public, but also allows us to welcome back fans to take part in a world-class PGA TOUR event for Detroiters,” said Jay Farner, CEO of Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Companies (NYSE: RKT). “Over the past year we have seen the selflessness of our hometown shine through – and now we are looking forward to putting on an event that will help so many as we all work to end the digital divide in Detroit.”

The Rocket Mortgage Classic has organized three exclusive pre-sale ticket opportunities, beginning on May 11, that are dedicated to 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic customers who either deferred their ticket purchases to 2021, donated their tickets to RMC charitable partners or received refunds.

The only current option to reserve a ticket to the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic is through the tournament’s new “Faces of AREA 313 presented by Priority Health” program, now available at RocketMortgageClassic.com. For a tax-deductible donation of $313 or more, fans can secure a two-day ticket to the event – on Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29 – and choose to display their own face, or that of a fellow fan, first responder, frontline worker or loved one lost from the COVID-19 pandemic, on an electronic videoboard or along the hospitality areas within AREA 313, located at holes 14-16 at Detroit Golf Club.

Each pledge supports the tournament’s ongoing “Changing the Course” mission to close the digital divide in Detroit and will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Priority Health, which has committed $50,000 to the initiative. This opportunity is extremely limited and expected to sell out quickly.

“We are thrilled to be able to welcome Michigan’s most passionate golf fans back to the Rocket Mortgage Classic, because no sporting event captures our imagination or ignites our passion and enthusiasm like one with the presence of fans,” said Jason Langwell, Executive Director of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. “The tournament extends a big thanks to our city and state government and health officials and the Rocket Mortgage team for working with us to create and approve our robust health and safety plan.”

Given the sold-out 2019 event and the demand for limited remaining hospitality options, the public is encouraged to act fast and secure 2021 tickets at RocketMortgageClassic.com, as the event will sell out in advance. Tournament staff are working closely with city and state officials to finalize a special event plan for the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

In conjunction with the PGA TOUR, to maintain the health and safety of participants and the public, this year’s ticketing process has been enhanced, and the event will implement additional safety measures. All tickets will be digital, day-specific, and can be purchased ahead of the event at RocketMortgageClassic.com, with a maximum of four tickets per day for each account holder. There will be no walk-up ticket sales at Detroit Golf Club during tournament week. The event will also feature other touch-free, cashless measures to promote a safer fan experience.

“The return of live spectators to the Rocket Mortgage Classic is another step in our city’s return to normalcy,” said Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. “I appreciate how thoughtful the tournament team and Rocket Mortgage have been in developing a plan that will allow spectators to enjoy this great event safely in person.”

Tickets for the Delta Dental Pro-Am at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, held on Wednesday, June 30, will remain at a fixed price of $20, while competition round tickets will be subject to dynamic pricing – starting at $60 on Thursday, July 1, $70 on Friday, July 2, and $80 for each day on the weekend (July 3 – 4).

Defending championand 2020 U.S. Open championBryson DeChambeau, fellow major championship winners Jason Day and Bubba Watson, and fan favorites Rickie Fowler and Harold Varner III are among the first golfers who have committed to play in the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which will feature a field of 156 players competing for a winner’s prize of $1.35 million and 500 FedExCup points. The event’s overall purse is $7.5 million.

Parking passes for designated, off-site tournament parking will be sold separately from tickets and purchased cashless and in advance at RocketMortgageClassic.com. Parking will be pre-paid and mobile entry, the details of which will be announced at a later date. The tournament will offer shuttle service for fans parked in tournament-designated lots as well as arrange a public rideshare drop-off/pick-up at the Palmer Park Community Building.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic will follow the PGA TOUR fan safety guide and all state and local COVID-19 health and safety regulations to promote a safe environment and quality fan experience at the Detroit Golf Club. All spectators will be subject to a health questionnaire upon entry, must wear a mask on course at all times except while actively eating or drinking, and must practice social distancing of at least six feet.

Due to COVID-19 and the safety of its players, the PGA TOUR has implemented health and safety policies that also prohibits any player-spectator contact, including autographs, selfies and even fist bumps. Spectator areas, including the Rocket Mortgage Classic merchandise tent, and hospitality pavilions will be open-air to ensure proper air flow.
