Safe Catch salmon offers a tasty — and easy — way to include more fish protein in your diet. Precooked and sealed in vacuum packs, Safe Catch Salmon comes in a variety of recipes, including plain, Citrus Dill, Italian Herb, and Rosemary Dijon.

This is a lot more to the Safe Catch salmon than your average can of tuna, however.

First, Safe Catch selects premium wild salmon, which is tested to a mercury limit that is thirty times lower than the FDA limit. The fish is hand packed without added oil, water, fillers, preservatives, and such. Finally, the salmon is slow cooked to preserve all Omega 3 oils and nutrients.

The ingredients in the Safe Catch Salmon are all things you can pronounce.

The result is a palate pleasing, healthy light meal. Since you can eat the salmon right out of the pack, Safe Catch packs are perfect for stashing in a golf bag (assuming you have a utensil).

While I liked all the flavors of the Safe Catch Salmon, my favorite is the Italian Herb. I had the plain with some salsa for a delicious mix.

While I was really pleased with the Safe Catch Salmon , I have a couple of caveats. First, I will note that I really like seafood, so take that into account when reading the review. If you dislike fish, these packets are not going to change your mind.

Second, in the pouch, it looks a bit like cat food. As a seafood lover that didn’t bother me, but I can see where it would turn some off.

A 12-pack box of the Safe Catch Salmon pouches has an MSRP of 35.99. So … $3 a pouch. If you like seafood and want to eat a healthy lunch or snack, these look like an affordable option.
