Solheim Cup Events Start Aug 31 At Inverness Club
Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio will host the 2021 Solheim Cup August 31 through September 6.
Hosting the Solheim Cup is a major coup for Inverness Club and the Toledo area. Folk in SE Michigan are also close enough to make it a day trip for what just might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The LPGA expects 150,000 to attend over the course of the week-long event.
The Solheim Cup is a biennial team golf event that features teams of 12 golfers representing the United States and Europe. The event is named for Karsten Solheim, founder of Ping, who was instrumental in the competition’s creation.

Ahead of the main event, Solheim Cup week features the Ping Junior Solheim Cup (Tuesday through Friday) at nearby Sylvania Country Club. The Junior Solheim Cup features US and European teams of amateur girls aged 12 to 18.
Other Solheim Cup events: An opening ceremony celebration featuring Gwen Stefani on Friday; a BMW Celebrity Match featuring Mike Golick and Darius Rucker on Thursday. Chris Young will give a concert on Saturday; Women’s Summit; Solheim After Sundown at Hensville; a Fan Fest; and more on site.
