Spring Golf At Washtenaw GC

Spring Golf At Washtenaw GC

I’d like to say that we have had an unusual 2023 Spring here in Michigan, but the truth is that for as long as I have lived in Michigan the weather has been capricious.

I extended my playing streak in February with ease. Indeed, I got in a half dozen rounds in cold, but snow-free weather. There were times that Washtenaw was quite busy with players taking advantage of the break in the weather.

Then, as soon as the calendar turned over to March, the snow arrived. I am convinced that there were fewer playing days in March than in February.

The cold and wet carried over into April. Finally this last week, as May beckons, it seems as if Spring has arrived in Michigan.

The critters were out as well. Wildlife on the golf course is something that I think people miss when they are storming about in carts. I really enjoy spotting the animals.

The first week of May looks like we’ll have temperatures in the fifties, with clouds and some rain. Hopefully there will be some times after work when I can get out to play.

  1. I like the mink photo. Mink or weasel, I have seen the same at Leslie Park. Spotting interesting wildlife is a nice side benefit to wandering the course.
