Spring Arrives, Bringing Snow

Canoes On The Huron

Here in Michigan, it is said that if you don’t like the weather, just wait ten minutes or drive ten miles. The only thing that’s predictable is its unpredictability.

As proof, the last week of winter here in Ann Arbor was absolutely gorgeous, with temperatures in the sixties, clear blue skies and mild breezes. Snow cleared, courses opened and I got out to play two nines.

Then, in a demonstration of the capriciousness of Mother Nature on our pleasant peninsula, the arrival of this first day of Spring is accompanied by cold, clouds, snow and freezing rain. As fate would have it, Thing One and the Scouts are out this weekend on a frigid canoeing trip.

By Wednesday, it’s supposed to warm back up to the mid 50s.
