SuperStroke Buys Lamkin

SuperStroke, the Wixom, Michigan-based golf grip manufacturer has purchased the well-known Lamkin Grips brand.

Lamkin has been a familiar name to generations of golfers. The company was founded in 1925 to manufacture leather grips.

My earliest clubs all were gripped with either Lamkin or Golf Pride — and more often than not, Lamkin. I particularly liked their Crossline grips.

In recent months, I have installed Superstroke Cross Comfort Grips on my clubs. I like the feel as much as — if not better — than the Winn grips I have been playing in recent years. I’ve also got a Superstroke Putter Grip on my trusty Scotty.

As my old grips on other clubs wear out, I’m replacing them with Superstrokes. Heh. Maybe Superstroke should add me to their list of product endorsers.
