TaylorMade Men’s AeroBurner Driver
The clubs just keep coming from TaylorMade.
The Aeroburner Driver, which will be released in January, tries to leverage both aerodynamics and the Speed Pocket for more distance.
The 460cc club reduces drag with a rounded toe and raised center crown. The most innovative bit though, is a fin that extends from the hosel to the crown (below).
The net effect, TaylorMade says is a 1 mph speed increase over the Jetspeed and SLDR.
The Speed Pocket, which has become a fixture in Taylormade clubs is designed to increase the size of the club’s sweet spot, while reducing spin.
This is not, however, an adjustable club. My guess is that adjustable settings would mess with the finely tuned aerodynamics.
