Teen Ko Finishes Third At Women’s Australian Open

Fifteen-year-old sensation Lydia Ko, already the winner of three pro events, finished third at the Women’s Australian Open.

She apparently will hold off going pro for a couple of years.

“I’ve got a couple of years until I turn pro so I guess within that period hopefully I’ll be able to get a little bit better,” South Korean-born Ko told reporters at the Royal Canberra Golf Club.

I wonder if she will end up being the next Michelle Wie, or the next Tiger Woods. Extrapolating future success based on teen performances is very difficult.

  1. I’m not sure she will wait a couple of years until she turns pro.

I imagine the lure of playing full time on the professional tour might be too much to resist.

She will have to gain an exemption much like Lexi Thompson did last year.
