Temporary Greens In At Green Oaks

In an ominous sign, I noticed that temporary greens have been installed at my home course.

Predicted temperatures this week are in the 70s, and in the 50s for the weekend. Those aren’t exactly numbers that demand temporary greens, but the Eagle Scout in me agrees that it is always best to be prepared.

Rather than installing temporary greens, I would like to see the course reverse the holes. Players would tee off next to the green on the 18th, and play to a temporary green on the 18th tee box. The second hole would play from in front of the 17th green to the 17th tee box and so on. That would offer an entirely new and interesting view of the course.
