Ger Corrigan of The Corrigan Brothers has released a short tribute song to Ian Poulter after his win at the Houston Open.

The Corrigan Brothers, as you may recall, are famous for songs such as “There’s no one as Irish as Barack Obama,” the “Ballad of Rory McIlroy,” ” Gotta Love the Beef,” a tribute to Andrew Johnson.

Ger said ” we are a golfing band and we were watching Poults and willing him on. That putt on 18 was incredible. Ian had been told he was in the Masters and then told it was an error and that he had to win so he went and won, incredible. The game needs Ian Poulter”

The song is a reworking of Cumbawumba’s “Tub Thumpin”. Ger continued ” It is an appropriate song for Ian’s golfing story”.

Lyrics

Ian Poulter Song- Ger Corrigan-Corrigan Brothers

Ian get knocked down but he gets up again
you will never keep Ian pouter down
an get knocked down but he gets up again
you will never keep Ian pouter down

He’s goin all the way
to win the Masters Hey

He sinks the longest putts
pumps his chest and struts
loves to make the cuts
wont kiss any butts
he’s playin golf that reminds us of the good times
he’s playin golf that reminds us of the better times

Oh Ian Boy Ian Boy Ian Boy
