The First Hole Of The Links At Wild Dunes Resort, South Carolina

The first hole of the Links at Wild Dunes Resort is a fun way to open a round. The hole is a 529 yard par 5. There’s a small pond to the left that could catch a hook, but otherwise, it’s a fairly straightforward shot. The hole is sandwiched between the ninth (which runs back) and the fourteenth (which runs in the same direction), but I did not feel as though I was being subjected to a shooting gallery.

Tom Fazio’s first solo design, the Links at Wild Dunes Resort was recently renovated. Greens sizes were increased, new cart paths were added, and the par five fifth, which had washed out to sea was redone as a par three.
