In photography, the hour just after sunrise, or just before sunset is known as “The Golden Hour.” You can see why in this photo.
At this point, when the sun is low, light from the sun travels through more of the atmosphere, creating spectacular effect. On the morning I shot this photo, it was very foggy and the sky hazy, which gave the light this strange reddish glow. As I understand the science, the more light travels through atmosphere, the more the blue is diffused.
